For the Life of Me
I'm a 23-year game industry vet and a lifelong geek girl, meaning that I like science, technology, speculative fiction, and other geeky stuff. I read, write, edit, sing, sculpt, paint, play ukulele, play video games, goof off on the Internet, participate in social media, and other stuff that makes me happy. I'm still not sure what I want to be when I grow up.
I was born in El Paso, Texas, and grew up in California. Today I live in Seattle, Washington with Blunt Jackson (Bluejack to some) and a gang of unruly beasts.

Games

I've written for Electronic Arts, Sierra On-Line, NCsoft, and many others. I've managed three writing teams ranging from six to seventeen writers and editors. My contributions include manuals, PR and marketing materials, backstory, dialog, help, editing, and game design. Most recently I managed a fantastic writing team at En Masse Entertainment working on the TERA MMO. Other recent titles include Aion & Guild Wars.
Speculative Fiction

I've loved science fiction and fantasy since I was old enough to fall asleep listening to my mom read Alice in Wonderland aloud. I started attending SF conventions when I was 19, and discovered a smart, accepting community that I've been a part of ever since. I began writing seriously when I was about 25, and my first short story sale, "Kidnapped by Aliens," to Tomorrow Magazine, was a collaboration with my mother, Bridget McKenna. We've continued collaborating, working together at several game companies, at the before-its-time Scorpius Digital Publishing and as co-publishers and editors at Aeon Speculative Fiction. I'm currently writing a YA fantasy novel I hope to finish by the end of 2011.
